Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Stir until the peaches are coated.
  • Transfer the peach mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Making the Topping

  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, 1 cup granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Slowly add milk to the flour mixture, stirring until just combined.

Assembly and Baking

  • Pour the batter over the peaches in the baking dish, covering the fruit as evenly as possible.
  • Drizzle melted butter over the batter.
  • Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For an added flavor, consider vanilla extract in the peach mixture. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Can substitute with other fruits like blueberries or raspberries.
