Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes.
  • Add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms to the skillet, and sauté for an additional 3 minutes.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula, and cook until browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, mixing well to combine.
  • Gently fold in the drained green beans and 1/4 cup of crispy fried onions into the beef mixture.
  • Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole.
  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and sprinkle the remaining crispy fried onions on top. Bake for an additional 10 minutes until the edges are bubbly and the onions are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Choose fresh ingredients for better flavor and nutrition. Consider adding red pepper flakes for heat or mixing in sour cream for extra creaminess.
