Ingredients

For the Ice Cream

  • 950 ml Vanilla Ice Cream Incredibly creamy and rich, the base of your sweet indulgence

For the Coating

  • 60 g Crushed Cornflakes Adding a delightful crunch and texture
  • 6 g Ground Cinnamon Aromatic and warm, bringing a cozy flavor profile
  • 25 g Granulated Sugar Sweetening the deal and enhancing the overall taste

For Frying

  • 950 ml Vegetable Oil The perfect frying medium for crispy perfection

For Topping

  • Whipped Cream Light and fluffy; an essential topping
  • Chocolate Syrup Rich and decadent to drizzle over the top
  • Maraschino Cherries Vibrant and sweet, to crown your dessert

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by scooping the vanilla ice cream into uniform balls using an ice cream scoop. Place these balls on a tray and freeze them until they are very firm, which should take at least 2 hours.
  • In a shallow dish, combine the crushed cornflakes, ground cinnamon, and granulated sugar. Mix these ingredients until well blended.
  • Retrieve your firm ice cream balls from the freezer. One by one, roll each ball in the cornflake mixture, pressing down gently to ensure an even coating. Place them back in the freezer for another 30 minutes.
  • In a deep-fryer or heavy-bottomed saucepan, heat the vegetable oil to 190°C (375°F). Use a thermometer for accuracy.

Frying

  • Carefully place the coated ice cream balls into the hot oil, a few at a time. Fry them for just 15-30 seconds until they turn a beautiful golden brown.
  • Using a slotted spoon, transfer the fried ice cream balls to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.

Serving

  • Serve immediately, topping each fried ice cream ball with a generous dollop of whipped cream. Drizzle over some chocolate syrup and finish with a maraschino cherry on top.

Notes

Tips for the best results: 1. Ensure ice cream balls are completely frozen before frying. 2. Maintain the right oil temperature. 3. Fry in small batches to avoid crowding.
