  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup of powdered sugar Enhances sweetness without graininess.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract Adds complexity to the dessert.

Crunchy Layer

  • 1 package 1 (14-oz.) package of Oreos, crushed (about 2 cups) Provides a crunchy contrast.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and whole milk until fully combined. Let the mixture sit for about 3 minutes to thicken.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the cold heavy cream until it begins to thicken. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the thickened pudding. Then, add about 1/3 of the crushed Oreos and fold until fully combined.

Assembly

  • Divide the mixture between serving cups or transfer to a trifle dish to showcase the layers.
  • Top each serving with more crushed Oreos and a handful of gummy worms.

Notes

For an even richer experience, consider adding a layer of chocolate syrup or a sprinkle of chocolate chips between the layers. The dessert is also customizable by swapping the gummy worms for other toppings like gummy butterflies or edible flowers.
