Ingredients

Muffin Batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour providing the perfect structural base
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adding sweetness in every bite
  • 1/2 cup softened butter ensuring a rich, creamy texture
  • 1 cup milk enhancing the moisture of your muffins
  • 2 large eggs adding richness and binding the ingredients together
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder for that perfect rise
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon infusing warmth and aroma
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt balancing the sweetness

Streusel Topping

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar lending a deeper sweetness
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) for added crunch
  • 1/2 cup additional flour yielding a crumbly texture
  • 1/4 cup cold butter for a rich, buttery topping

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your muffin tin by lining it with paper liners or lightly greasing it with butter or oil.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
  • Slowly stir in the milk until smooth.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  • Gradually add this dry mixture into the wet mixture, stirring gently until combined.
  • For the streusel topping, mix the brown sugar, additional flour, chopped nuts (if using), and cold butter until crumbly.
  • Fill muffin cups halfway with the batter, sprinkle with the streusel topping, then add more batter on top, finishing with a sprinkle of streusel atop each muffin.

Baking

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the muffins to cool slightly before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Ensure your ingredients are at room temperature for best results. Avoid overmixing the batter to keep muffins light and fluffy. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or freeze for longer storage.
