Ingredients
  

For the crust

  • 1.5 cups 1 ½ cups chocolate wafer crumbs These crispy crumbs form the base of your bars.
  • 0.5 cups ½ cup unsalted butter, melted Helps bind the crust and adds flavor.
  • 0.25 cups ¼ cup granulated sugar For a hint of sweetness.

For the mint filling

  • 1 cups 1 cup powdered sugar Creates the smooth mint layer.
  • 0.5 cups ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder Enhances the chocolate flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons milk Helps blend the ingredients.
  • 0.5 teaspoons ½ teaspoon peppermint extract Delivers a refreshing minty kick.
  • 1 tablespoons 1 tablespoon green food coloring (optional) If desired for visual appeal.

For the ganache

  • 1 cups 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Melts beautifully for rich ganache.
  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons unsalted butter Enhances the ganache.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, combine chocolate wafer crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Stir until well mixed.
  • Press the mixture into a greased 9x9-inch baking dish and bake for about 10 minutes. Allow to cool completely.

Mint Layer

  • In another bowl, mix powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, peppermint extract, and food coloring until smooth.
  • Pour the mint mixture over the cooled crust and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

Ganache and Assembly

  • Melt chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  • Pour the ganache over the mint layer and spread evenly. Chill in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours until set.
  • Once set, slice into squares and serve.

Notes

Press the crust firmly and chill adequately for best results. You can substitute butter with coconut oil for a dairy-free version or use gluten-free chocolate cookies.
