  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon Offers a hint of warm spice.
  • 1 pinch salt Balances the sweetness.
  • 1 serving whipped cream or vanilla ice cream Optional for serving.

Preparation

  • Rinse the peaches under cool water, cut in half, discard the pit, and slice into segments.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until bubbling.

Cooking

  • Add the brown sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to the melted butter. Stir continuously to create a caramel sauce.
  • Increase heat to medium-high and gently place peach segments cut side down in the skillet. Cook undisturbed for 3-4 minutes until caramelized.
  • Carefully flip the peaches to the other cut side and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  • Lower heat to medium-low and let peaches simmer in caramel sauce for 2 minutes.

Serving

  • Remove from heat and drizzle the caramel sauce over peaches. Serve immediately with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days. Reheat gently in a skillet.
